Student Absences, Early Departures and Late Arrivals

A student’s attendance at school is an important part of their learning journey. Not only is it a legal requirement but it also forms a critical part of their social, emotional and academic growth as a young person.

There have been many children turning up to school late and leaving early. Please limit appointments to before or after school hours and attempt to have holiday breaks during the school vacation period. If your child is running late and has arrived after 9am they MUST be signed in by an adult, please do not drop them off at the school gate and allow them to come through the office unattended.

As a school we are following the CEO Dow Policy & Procedure and some families may receive a letter raising an awareness of emerging attendance concerns, asking families to explain unexplained absences or advising of consistent late arrival. If you have any questions about this correspondence, please contact the school.

Thank you for your co operation with this procedure.

Hairstyles

As students return to school, it is timely to revisit  the school's uniform expectations for hair.

Hair that is over collar length must be cut or tied back. Hair may not be dyed. Hair that is untidy (for example long in length or on top or sides, in face) must be cut, no hairstyles that are inappropriate for school (eg. rat tails, mohawks, mullets, beaded hair etc.) are allowed. Only light blue or navy coloured bands, ribbons etc. may be worn.

If your child has any of the above we request that it is amended as soon as possible. Thank you for your co operation and following school policy.
