Celebrating Our Students

This Term our students are having a very creative time, focusing on Visual Arts and Music.

In Visual Arts, the children have produced some wonderfully imaginative artworks.
Kinder, Years 1 and 2, will continue to  focus on "Itty Bitty Critters" in our natural environment. We are using a variety of artistic mediums, to draw, sketch and paint a multitude of Mini Beasts such as Lady Beetles and Green Tree Frogs.
Our Year 3 and 4 students will be investigating a variety of artworks in the style of the "Great Masters". So far we have featured work inspired by Jean Miro and Pablo Picasso, who were both influenced by the abstract world and Cubism. We look forward to creating more original artworks in the style of Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet and Sidney Nolan.
In Music news this Term, we are focused on Rhythm, Beat and Body Percussion.
Our students in Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2 have been 'moving, shaking and keeping the beat' to some very lively toe tapping numbers! Some of our favourites include  Henry Mancini's theme to "The Pink Panther", ABBA'S "Mamma Mia" and "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid.
The children in Stage 2 have also been focussed on Body Percussion, but over the next few weeks, we will incorporate a new level of dexterity and talent!  We  will combine the lyrics, movements and cup percussion to the song "When I'm Gone" as featured on Pitch Perfect.

It has been a great start to Term 3 and we look forward to many more exciting learning episodes together.
