St Francis of Assisi Liturgy

On Friday October 16th our St Michael’s school community gathered for a joyful liturgy to celebrate the Feast of St Francis of Assisi. We were so blessed to have Father Ken and Andy join us. Thank you to Mrs Kelly and Kindergarten for leading this beautiful liturgy.

St Francis loved God and cared for people, animals and the environment in such an inspirational way. May St Francis continue to inspire us to show reverence for all people and be stewards of God’s creation.

Sharing Prayer Spaces

We are so fortunate as a school to have two lovely prayer spaces. One is our outdoor sacred space and the other is our indoor prayer space in the admin building. The indoor prayer space is a place that the staff gather for prayer. This space also offers a beautiful display wall where we create and share whole school displays.

This term students have been invited to spend some time in these special prayer spaces. This is another way we can celebrate our school vision and mission. We can listen to bible stories, join in prayer or have our Religious Education lesson. It also provides an opportunity to share and celebrate our whole school displays that have been created and discuss the meaning and messages shared in the prayer space display.

The students have been finding this experience very special and meaningful.

Sacrament of First Penance

Congratulations to our students who received their First Reconciliation last night. This sacrament is one of love, forgiveness and healing, marking a significant step in the spiritual journey of our students. Many thanks to Father Ken and Miss Negus, together with parents/carers and the St Michael's Parish Community for preparing and supporting the candidates.

Sacrament of First Holy Communion

In the upcoming weeks, students will commence their preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion (the second step in their initiation into the Catholic Faith). We pray for the students and their parents, for the strength to continue to share with each other their beliefs and love in Jesus Christ.

Living the vision

Last Friday October 21 was a wonderful opportunity for our school to celebrate the many successes that our students have achieved through Term Three and recognise those students that model leadership and live our school vision and mission daily.
