It’s been another huge couple of weeks here at St Michael’s, Thirroul. We had our beautiful new Kindergarten students begin, our first school assembly, and the St Michael’s swimming trials. I’d like to thank the amazing staff at St Michael’s for their extra time and energy to ensure our students have had the best possible start to 2023. A big thank you to all of the parents who came out and supported our swimming carnival. It was a very positive atmosphere, and we are very grateful for your ongoing support. 

In the first newsletter I shared my vision as Principal for 2023: St Michael’s is a place where every individual can be their best. In my opening weeks with staff we discussed the importance of creating a culture where we continually learn and grow together in a safe and supportive environment. This fortnight at our assembly, I will be talking to our students about the importance of challenging ourselves, which often involves stepping out of our comfort zone. We all feel nervous about things that are new or different, but it is through these opportunities that we experience the most growth.Our personal relationships with Christ help us to know that we are not alone as we face our fears or experience challenges. My hope is that all of our students can identify some of these areas where they feel challenged, and support each other in turning these fears into their superpowers.
