Principal's Message
Vision: Inspired by Christ, we aspire to excellence in learning, living life fully in community
The mission at St Michael’s is to:
-
be a vibrant catholic community where all feel safe, valued, loved and respected
-
display understanding, compassion and care for others and all creation
-
foster dynamic and diverse learning opportunities
How have we lived our vision lately?
Over the past 2 weeks it has been so obvious to me how, together we are authentically living our Vision and through our daily words and actions we are achieving our mission. The Kinder 2025 playgroups saw parents and future St Michael’s students coming together to start their journey of lifelong friendships. I am excited to see how our new cohort of Kinder students will thrive next year. The Family Parish Mass was a beautiful example of our families being ‘inspired by Christ’ and uniting in prayer and celebration followed by a bbq and social connection, strengthening our bonds with our parish community. I was blown away with the response to Going Green Week, a student-led initiative that had such an impact on raising awareness of our environmental footprint. I want to acknowledge the leadership of Year 3 students, Daisy Deacon and Willow Beatie for rallying a team of Planet Protectors and being the driving force behind the wonderful events during Going Green week. This week saw the end of our 2025 student leadership elections, I was in awe of how responsible all students were in engaging in the process. I would like to congratulate the following 2025 student leadership team and I know they will do an outstanding job leading our wonderful school community.

Supervision at School - SAFETY FIRST
I would like to remind all parents/carers that supervision starts from 8:30am. Students should not be dropped off outside of the school before this time as there are no staff members to supervise them and this is a safety issue. The gates will open at 8:30am and supervision will begin. If you do need supervision for your child/children before 8:30am, we have the OSHC service in our school hall operating from 7:00am to 6:00pm each weekday (excluding Monday mornings). Please contact OSHC if you require this service. Please contact the school if we can support you in any way to ensure this procedure is followed.
Travel Arrangements to and from school - SAFETY FIRST
Student safety is of the utmost importance and we are in the process of reviewing our current Road Management Plan and this includes how students get to and from school. Over the next 2 weeks, you will receive a compass notification asking you to inform us of how your child gets to and from school and who are the named adults you give permission to pick up your child. If your child is to go home from school in an alternative way eg: will walk instead of getting picked up or will go with a friend’s parents instead of their own, it is the parents responsibility to inform the school of this change in travel arrangement. Once teachers have crossed students over the road (walkers and riders), put them on a bus or handed them over to parents/carers either in car lines or in person on the playground, their duty of care ceases. We hope that by parents informing us of the regular travel arrangements, we will ensure that all students are safe when travelling to and from school.
Uniform
I would like to send a timely reminder about our uniform and what and how students wear their uniform to school. Our goal is for all students to wear the correct uniform with pride. This includes the correct socks and shoes, and has appropriate hairstyles. I remind you of our uniform policy and ask that you ensure your child is wearing their uniform correctly. If for any reason your child cannot adhere to the uniform policy, please contact the office so that staff are aware. Staff will be reminding students of the correct uniform on a regular basis. If there are any concerns with this, please feel free to contact the school to discuss further.

You are invited to attend the St Michael’s Christmas Concert. We are getting ready for this wonderful community event. Time to get your singing voices ready and bring your Christmas spirit on Thursday 12th December. Gates open at 4:45pm.
